As I posted in my last entry, Kiryu was well over-due for the 60K service, so I booked her in with Clint and Kevin at GasHead
Motorworks (GHM) for the service.

Besides the usual 60K service job, I also asked them to go ahead and replace a
ll of the coolant lines so I wouldn't have to
worry about those for a while.
They also bundled up the wires in the engine bay and mounted some of the loose connectors and wrapped various wires in
protective tape or hose protectors.

All of which gave the engine bay a much tidier look.

And all that's well in good and the car was much overdue for it's service anyway, but the big news is that big metal thing
gleaming past the grill area.
While the car was there Clint made me an offer I couldn't refuse, a new intercooler plus installation for only $500 dollars.
Now how the heck was I supposed to turn down an offer like that? He even relocated the IAT1 sensor from the throttle inlet
tube down to the hard line post-intercooler to make the car's performance more consistent.
The car is still making the same amount of power it was before, but it doesn't lose power and get real laggy like it normally
does after a couple of hard pulls. Even in this cooler weather you can tell a difference with how responsive the car stays.
It also doesn't heat soak as badly driving around in traffic, but I bet that has more to do with the sensor relocation than the
intercooler which is basically useless when sitting still.

Next up on the agenda? It's hard to say really.
The turbo will most likely need to be either re-built or replaced at 100,000 miles, so that's a
$1,300 dollar job if I do it
myself, and well into the 2
-grand range if I have GHM do it instead (which I most likely would, as these turbos are a pain in
the ass to remove and install yourself.)
Part of me is tempted to place an order with Stephanie at BEGi for their CAI intake setup. Another part of me is ready to go
ahead and place the order with FCM to have them build me the street suspension I've been lusting after for the last 4 years.

Ah decisions decisions...
